30 October 2005, Assen, The Netherlands -
After the previous successful
Vijverberg Trofee two weeks ago, we again joined the event today.
Dutch TT Circuit, Assen was the place to be on this sunny day in late
October. We arrived in time and everthing went smooth. Before we attended the
drivers breefing, we washed the car, and prepared it to drive. All 3 of us planned
drive again. The previous event Otto set the fastest laptime record of 1:53.359,
so we had a goal. Who will brake this laptime today?
In small sessions of 6 or 7 laps we started our first try in the early afternoon.
Tobias did the "kick-off" today. Follow by me, then Otto. The car was behaving
well, and it felt better and better. During Tobias' second session, one of the
front tires needed to be replaced. The new set of tires felt much better, and this
resulted in better and quicker laps, but how quick? At 17:00h we could again look
back on wonderfull racing day, but what was the new laptime record, and who drove
it? With my BlackBerry we checked the internet on the way home, and there it was.
A new laptime record, driven again by Otto, of 1:49.194. More then 4 seconds quicker
then last time. Tobias and me also improved our personal records, but we couldn't
make it as fast as Otto. Maybe next time!
Special about this last season's racing day was that the TT Circuit will never be
in this shape again. Tomorrow, on monday, they will start changing the circuit, and
change the layout before next season.
The has one advantage! The first corner, de nationale bocht, will disapear. With
our current car, and current gearbox, this is not a major loss. We are looking
forward to drive the new layout next season.

16 October 2005, Assen, The Netherlands -
Today we joined the De Vijverberg Trofee
held on the Dutch TT Circuit, Assen. This
event is meant for people like us. Driving for fun, with their race car, or street car.
The weather was expected to be nice, and it was! And that was not the only thing that was
nice. Our car felt great after a slow start. After 4 hours of driving, we all had
a big smile on our face. This was why we started racing. Fun fun fun... And the car
was helping us big time.
We still think we can make the car a little better. We found out that we have to work
on some other topics, but these are all minor. The car is driving again, and not less
important, it brakes again!

16 October 2005, Rotterdam, The Netherlands -
After almost 1 year without updating this website, we continue the story of Alfamici.
A lot happened since last years' race at Hockenheim. During this
AMS e.V. event
we promised to each other to work on the car the comming year. Now, one year later,
we can look back on some big changes, not only on the car. The biggest issue for the 3
Alfamici team members was their personal development. We all were finishing or starting a new
study, or changing a job for starting a own company. This took away a lot of time to
spend on the car. But still, we kept the promise, we changed the car.
First we looked for an Alfa 33 Q4 rear-axle. This because we wanted to change ordinary
standard rear brakes with the disc brakes from the Q4. With a lot of help from
Kees-Jan van Vessem (Forza 33.com), we managed to install the rear-discs. We also installed in parallel a front/rear brake balancer.
The front breaks also got an upgrade. Instead of normal 33 16v brakes, we installed the
155 Q4 customised front brakes. With the new set of brakes, we should be able to
improve the braking force of the car. Unfortunately, the first test drive on the
Circuit Park Zandvoort was a big
disaster. There was a big problem with the new brakes. To much air in the circuit
made it impossible to drive not more then 3 laps. Such an off day was unacceptable and
may not happen again. Let that be a lesson!

24 October 2004, Hockenheim, Germany -
The Alfamici-Team had a wonderful sunny summer day at the circuit of Hockenheim. With two Alfa's we joined
the annual "Akademischen" event (http://www.amsev.de). It was the 37th time this event was held.
For the Alfamici-Team it was the second time. Last year was our first experience with the "Kleine Kurs". Because of the nice
ambience we returned this year. But this year with our Race 33. The experience was great. Lap-times of last year were improved with 10 seconds compared with a normal Alfa 33 and 6 seconds compared
with a street Alfa 75 3.0 V6. Like last year we joined our friends from the Mercedes AMG Club in the pitbox. Together we had a great weekend on the racing circuit. The Alfamici-Team would like to thank all the
participants for this very nice weekend.
